Merri/Kiyoko/Siri
Unbidden, Ran sucked in a breath as Merri dashed in front of her, shielding her from the spell. Behind her, a small crowd had gathered, terrified to be there and not brave enough to run away, perhaps straight into another monster. Her eyes scanned the group and found a familiar face: one of the younger acolytes, ghostly-pale and making his way over to her.
"I shall help the civilians to safety!" she called to Merri and the other mage. "Please, be safe!"
As the young man, Loran, drew level with her, another gust of Blizzara blew their way; she gritted her teeth and withstood the blast. It passed, leaving only the afterthought of ice scales lingering on her skin, and she called, "I am all right!"
Loran offered a bow and whispered, "My Lady. The street is clear for the next block; we may be able to evacuate some of these people before the monsters return."
Ran's voice was equally low as she replied, lost to the din of the battle and the chaos around them, eveything but the acolyte's ears. "Do so," she commanded. "I shall go very soon."
