Altair did stop playing then. He took his hands off the keys and rested them on his knees. The entire point had been to play by himself with no one listening; playing for Ari felt too much like showing off. "I'll contact the guildmaster and have the lack of facilities issue put on the agenda for the next Guild Meeting," he said. That was a joke. The guildmaster was decidedly hands-off, and aside from the council, which Altair wasn't privy to but which he assumed must have meetings of some sort, there were no Guild Meetings.
Pushing back the bench with a squeak he didn't intend, Altair stood. "I'll buy you breakfast," he suggested, and closed the cover of the piano. He didn't necessarily approve of Ari's lifestyle choices, but he did regret waking her. She was probably hung over, and Altair couldn't imagine sleeping on a hard wooden bench on purpose.
