There wasn't usually anyone in the guild house at this hour, but Altair knew better by now than to be surprised by anything that happened in this part of town. He continued to play, but took the melody up an octave and changed the song. This one, if he recalled correctly, was about morning, and was therefore more appropriate to waking a sleeping person.
"Is that you, Ari?" he asked conversationally. He was unable to tell from this angle, and he didn't feel like craning around to look. "I hadn't realized we were now using this as an inn for homeless bards. I also," he added as an afterthought, "wouldn't expect a bard to refer to Cabet's Reverie in D as 'noise.'"
