It had all come together rather quickly, but she had managed and looked quite presentable, if she could say so herself. Alys and Basil were dressed and ready, and so long as neither attempted to murder the other before the time in which it was allowable, then all would go off without a hitch.
Waitstaff seamlessly blended in, trays of finger foods, champagne and wine perched on their palms. The dance floor was filling quickly with those who wished to use it, and columns of flowers lined the length of it. In the northwest corner, she had arranged for a seating area consisting of tall tables with floral arrangements and plush couches for those who were in need of a break. A few seats were already filled.
Genevieve straightened her chest and retrieved the guests of honor, instructing the couple (such an odd word to attribute to them, truly) to wait until they were introduced. She walked down the staircase, welcomed the guests and gave a brief speech on the wonders and commitment that they would embark upon starting the next month. "I would like to present the happy couple, Lady Alys Coloumbe and Lord Basil Norwood."
No sooner had the two begun walking down the stairs did two voices shout "Basil!" and the women fainted. Genevieve sighed; this was going to be a long afternoon, and she would need to have yet another talk with Basil.
