Mag/Aspel/Ari/Lavitz VS Dreadguard
Ari had been Confusing enemies in battle since long before she'd learned to handle a dagger to take care of assailants -- it was a convenient way to turn multiple enemies against each other, giving one time to run away. Sadly, this did not seem to be the intended tactic here, as the Dreadguard did not want to run at all -- it rushed in her direction instead.
As she yelped and attempted to duck behind Lavitz -- really, anyplace less open -- she heard Mag and Aspel fighting.
The other benefit of Confuse, now turned against them: Confuse a strong opponent (a strong, hasted opponent) and it became very difficult to land the sort of solid hit that would set their minds right. Damn it.
She just had to hope the creature would remain engaged with Lav or with Amarant, for that matter -- her own quickened fingers were already strumming the opening chords of Soul Etude. If she could finish the song, Aspel would regain her mind -- hopefully before the giant, vaguely bird-like creature assaulted her.
