"She does, doesn't she?" Ari said. "And meddle; don't forget that she likes to meddle." And of course everyone let her, because she was Vivi, and who said no to a countess, employer, and the guildmaster's possible lover? Few were brave enough.
She watched with fascination as he activated the device. "I've never seen anything like it." She left out the fact that his hope was probably a little naive; it was a Bella job, after all. Most likely, they would have to find something (though preferably not someone). Having examined the device, she rinsed and put away her empty mug and stretched her arms over her head, dropping them with a contented sigh. "Well," she said, "I seem to feel almost like myself again." With another friendly smile, she grabbed Nate's arm and tugged him towards the door. "Come on, then," she said. "If you're going to fly with us, you should at least know the captain, don't you think? I'll introduce you to Bella, and whoever else happens to be around." Crew was like family, after all. Hers was always expanding - and it seemed he was going to be part of it, at least for now. "Try not to let your jaw hit the floor when you see her," she cautioned with a giggle. Bella had that effect on people.
Now that the coffee had kicked in, she would keep up the friendly chatter all the way down the hall.
