Merri smiled at Drake, thankful for his reassurance though deep down he still did not believe it himself. The best he could do for Peony and Toku, he knew, was making sure that they did not become overwhelmed, but both did far more outside of normal councilor duties than Merri himself did, but maybe, he supposed, that was enough. He still felt like he could do more, though, and he'd ask, if he thought himself as capable as them.
But these were thoughts for later, and the talk of vacation was a happier one. "I understand. A week sounds perfect, though! I'll ask. When were you thinking of going?"
