Drake reached over and patted Merri on the hand. "I'm sure they managed, but I don't think that they were fine without you, Mer." It was a little worrisome how often Merri had started to talk like this; he knew that the mage enjoyed being a Councilor, and that he'd always been a bit unsure about his place, but he had never really been so self-deprecating about it. There was something going on, but Drake was at a loss of how to ask about it.
Instead, he followed along with the rest of the conversation and shrugged. "Maybe a week? I just need some time to relax. Not think about anything, you know?"
