"Shhh," Caspar hissed as Audrey's voice rose with indignation. "You're not going to catch a cold from bare feet. I would have gotten sick on five out of every six missions if the weather could do that." He snorted. "You're a lady about as much as I'm a Lord," he couldn't help adding. True, he was a Lord, but they were talking personalities, not technicalities. "Lord Vaux?" The woman's voice grew louder behind them, forcing Caspar into a full out sprint towards the glass doors. He let Audrey pull them open (his hands still being a little occupied) and skirted to a row of golden chairs along one wall. "Alright, Aud. It's all you now." His sudden sprint only made Audrey’s nails claw into his shoulder as she held on for what she felt was dear life. The warmth of the building draped over them as the doors came to a close. With the eyes of strangers on her, the blonde made a pained face. As soon as she had been set down a white mage in the second hall immediately took interest, placing his hand on her shoulder inquiring what was wrong. Quiet words were exchanged between the two before the white mage pressed his palm around her ankle, emitting a faint light. Some of the other party goers cast occasional glances at what was going on, able to assume the situation by the way he held her ankle and the size of Audrey’s heels. Thanking him, he helped her to her feet, Audrey taking his arm and casting a glance over her shoulder to look at Caspar. Voice silent, her lips mouthed out. "Hide," abandoning her friend’s company and rejoining the party. |
