"Is it?" Ari asked, her eyebrows rising a bit in surprise at the words and the tone. Well then. "I will keep it in mind for future." The bedroom was as she remembered. She thought fleetingly of the box under the bed, but there was no way to check if it was still there, and besides, it was no concern of hers. Instead, she put her things down, as before, and unclasped her instrument case, pulling out her mandolin to tune it. The recent humidity was wreaking havoc with her strings.
"Yes," Ari agreed to Aspel's statement, though truthfully there was only one other person to whose hurts she seemed to administer with this kind of regularity. Well, as she had said herself a few nights back, friends came in all forms. "I am glad you took my offer for multiple songs to heart, at least," she added as Aspel went to work on her boots. Her hands still looked as though they weren't cooperating. "Perhaps I ought to sing first - or help you with your laces," she suggested. "You're only going to make that worse otherwise."
