Aspel Cassul: When in doubt, Aspel! (weaponry) wrote in emillion,
The day had been long. First making it back from harvesting wood, then the note from Drake, making cupcakes and getting them to the guild, all of the sparring, the talk with Karras and then some more sparring as her mind refused to settle. With all of this, Aspel had barely made it back before 9pm herself. In fact, she'd arrived with only minutes to spare before the clock stuck nine and hadn't even bothered making it up the stairs as Ari surely would need to be let in and the smith was relatively certain she'd be unable to make it up and down those stairs more then absolutely required to get Ari in and out.
With that, Aspel had begun removing her armor, placing the broken, punctured, and dented pieces behind the counter as each was removed with low grunt and heavy sighs. Even with the time spent without her helmet, her hair was still a wreck and her clothing was slightly damp. Pulling off the padding it was tossed over the front counter and she'd stiffly, moved to rest on a bench near one of the windows. Leaning back, her elbows propped against the sill and the coolness of the glass was a relief in its own way.
The knock jarred her from having nearly fallen asleep and with a grumble Aspel groused as she stood. Her steps were a bit shaky and the lock was hard to manage from damage her hands had taken from blows that grazed past the sword hilt. In fact, she wasn't entirely sure that a finger or two wasn't broken but even then, the door would be fussed with until she managed to open it.
Pulling it back, an exhausted smile would be given to Ari. The hand not on the doorknob gesturing for the bard to come in. Bruises had begin to darken and her hands looked rough at best. A cut above her brow threatened to possibly scar and whatever other damage she had incurred remained hidden.
"Thank you." Was all Aspel could manage to get out before closing the door behind Ari and gesturing for the other woman to go ahead in front as she already knew the way. Besides, there was no need for the bard to watch Aspel struggle with the lock once more.
