Faram's Mass was a day deeply rooted in religious observances of course, but as one of the largest holidays of the year, government and other business functions were to be closed for the day as well. A special Mass was be held at the Grande Cathedral every year for worshipers to attend, while the Cardinal himself was known to make a public appearance as well as give a speech to the faithful. Decorations, caroling, and gift-giving were all to be expected around this time. People in the city often celebrate Faram’s Mass with their families or close friends, holding private parties, dinners or other events. Though the atmosphere of the city had been marred by the recent attack, nothing arose to trouble the peace that day, and plans for the holiday mostly went as scheduled—in spite of or even because of this. |
