The eve of Faram's Mass had brought upon a certain flavour of discomfort that Lavitz was far too used to: trying to breathe while sitting next to his sister in mass, both from chest pain and a fear that had never quite dissipated over the years. Eris terrified him day in and day out, and fractured ribs had only added to that unease. At one point, she bumped her knee against his to silence him from what she'd later call Old man breathing, and he was sure he hadn't recovered from the shock of her even grazing him. |
