Riyeko desperately tried to keep her inventions away from the kitchen. With all the grease, oil, rust, gears, wires, tubing, metal flecks and more that could get mixed into things, it was just generally a good idea. Even with this desperate attempts, things always seemed to slowly creep their way from her workshop and begin to litter and linger through the house. That was, until Riyeko went into a frenzy and cleaned everything in sight, and rearranged everything and put everything back into its proper place because every item always had one... Sometimes they were just misplaced... Repeatedly. So, there had been a whirlwind of cleaning and pushing her inventions back away from the kitchen before putting the rice on to cook and then setting the fish to steam and dumping the appropriate mixture of soup stock, soy sauce, mirin and sugar into a large skillet to warm. The chicken would be added shortly after, along with sliced onion. While the soup mixture came to a boil eggs were lightly beaten and finally added over the chicken and onion in the skillet. Dropping the temperture down, the mixture of items was covered with a lid and it gave her just enough time to pull out what she needed for the salad. Though, that itself even proved a dash as she quickly had to move back to turn the burner off. Certainly, Peony would be here shortly and Riyeko vaguely wondered if perhaps, she'd be able to get it all done before the other woman arrived. Regardless, the salads were prepped and then bowls were retrieved with a quick step around a mechanical dog she'd been working on and off with for the last few years. Humming quietly to herself, Ratchet raised his head, looked over at the ruckus she'd made and then simply resumed laying on his side without much concern over the fuss his human was making. Such was life. |
