Thank Faram, it seemed the knight was, indeed, equipped to handle such issues as blindness induced by magic -- leaving Peony free to chant once again. Quakega, this time; the few smaller flan that had come into view since her last spell shuddered and died, and the larger ones were, at the very least, deterred from approach, though it did not seem as effective against them. perhaps she ought to try --
The thought was derailed as a wave of darkness slammed into her and sent her sprawling, temporarily disoriented and nauseous. She had not felt the touch of the Dark since the decisive battle in the sewers, but it was not an unfamiliar feeling.
Pulling herself to her feet, ignoring the cold and pain that had settled deep in her bones, she responded: "Thunder is not ineffective." Her own spells had seen to that. But more importantly, if these creatures were casting Dark magicks...
"Anything Holy elemental, if you have it," she added as a suggestion, bracing to cast again. "Perhaps even Cure -- on the larger of the beasts, not us." It had a chance of working.
