The samurai barely had time to move out of the path of destruction as fire erupted from all around. But it was not simply from the bombs this time, she had noted with surprise, but another enormous beast that seemed for all purposes to be on their side--more than that, it seemed to have a rather visible tie with the bard, what with the way it grasped Chiaro from the air. Gillian had to turn her eyes from the seething flames, as beast met with bombs along its forward charge, setting off an explosive pathway to its target.
It was then as she turned her attention away did she notice their leader, stricken, wavering on her feet. Bats and other foes were still abound and so Gillian made her way over to the mime and offered an arm to steady her. "Keep alert," she cautioned. "You're not finished yet."
Prepared to use the purifying effects of a monk's mantra, Gillian kept her sword in one hand and made ready to defend. All the while, the beast of fire ripped its way to its intended target, shaking the ground as it moved.
