the learning never stops Who: Merri and Gale What: Esuna training Where: Lobby of the mage tower When: Today, afternoon Rating: PG? Status: In Progress
It had started with the Chocolate Mousse, but once they had returned to the city Merrion had been so busy between recovering from the pneumonia he had picked up that day ("It's barely even a cold," the white mages had scoffed), working on Slow and Dark and his swordsmanship, and... other things that he thought better not to dwell on too much, that learning Esuna had completely slipped his mind until Monday night. Those monsters had done a great deal of damage and harm, and though Merrion had managed to defeat a good lot of them with his spells, he hadn't been able to protect the people around him effectively, and Wil had suffered for it.
Esuna was only a start, but it was the best start Merrion could think of. He had tried for years to cast a stronger Cure, but he had no luck, though if he had had Esuna in his repertoire of spells, he could have prevented so much.
Thankfully, Gale had offered to help him, and so he waited in the lobby as they agreed upon, his staff in hand. He tried his very best not to pace, because pacing led to thinking and his thoughts led to worry, and he needed a clear head to be able to perform and learn spells with any amount of success. Right now was not the time to worry about his friends; right now was the time to make it so that he wouldn't have to again.
