He took another bit of his sandwich and chewed thoughtfully. He wasn't sure he could ever picture Merrion Priddy as an adventurer; he was too kind, and while there were people who went out and did fine by keeping their gentle natures, but while he knew Wil was on the more lawful side of things, he knew Merri wouldn't have lasted.
Drake swallowed and shifted so that he could put his arm around Merri's shoulders. "There's nothing wrong with that, Mer," he said softly. He didn't say anything about the uncertainty or loneliness that adventurers tended to be prone to; his own father was one, and even though he'd been surrounded by people all the time, Tavian always seemed sad whenever he was on the shore.
"If it didn't feel right," he ventured after a few moments of quiet, "then maybe you're right and it wasn't. You know what's best for you, you know?"
