Siana/Damia/Maria/Peony/Darius/ELEMENTAL
Peony dragged herself to her feet and concentrated, waving her staff in the direction of the warriors. Once again, their weapons lit with flames; they would do a better job at distracting the beast if they could hurt it, and that small use of magic, as brief as its effect would be, could buy her valuable time.
She tried to steady her stance as best she could in wind and rain and took a deep breath, in and out. She began to chant, quietly and quickly; this was a long spell, difficult and powerful, and she might not get a second opportunity to cast it if she did not do it now. This beast had to fall before their strength flagged, and -
A wall of water slammed into her. She choked, lowing her balance and falling to the ground. She felt something snap - her spine - bright and hot pain jolting through her body. She tried to choke out the final words of the spell, but her vision was graying. She could not finish. Then -
A shout, followed by a gentle, warm light. Her back straightened, her lungs took in air, her entire body spasmed. But she could stand now, despite the pain. She rose, first to her knees, then to her feet. She still couldn't feel her left arm, and she ached in every imaginable place; her grip on her rod was shaky, but she was conscious and her mind was clear. "Keep it off me!" She had to shout to be heard, but she trusted that they would listen. "I need time!" She began the chant once more, preparing the firestorm which would - she hoped - bring the beast down.
