Drake/Chloe/Quen/Cian/Open
Quen couldn't help but smile a bit when Chloe defended her from the arrogant stranger who'd come out of one of the nearby warehouses. It felt good to have someone support her right to be here. Also, Quen didn't think she looked like a child. She had a rather slender frame, but no one had ever told her she looked much younger than she was.
Putting the newcomer out of her mind, she focused on casting Fire, aiming slightly right of center. Practicing in the Mage Tower, she'd always struggled to hold back her power, but out here she let the mana flow freely through her body and down her arm to be channeled by the wand. Once the spell was fully charged, she was rewarded by a loud POP as it caught a bit more explosively than necessary and the scream of a Mindflayer as it ignited.
She gave herself no time to celebrate, or to wonder exactly how much damage she'd done; she had already begun charging the next spell.
