What Cressida possessed couldn't quite be called a hero complex. Instead, it was something more like a need to see others safe, not for glory or recognition, but the desire for people to remain unharmed and in one piece. Maybe it was her family that sparked such a complex in her, those who she cherished with all of her heart and sought to protect. It was her instinctive need for more and more training, no matter the hour and despite the clouds, that had drawn her out of the house, and it was in the archery range where she'd heard the commotion. Fellow guild members scurrying around crying that the docks were under attack had drawn her there without question, her bow clutched tight in hand. This was her city, these were her people. How could she not protect them?
The wind had deterred her the most. Could she shoot in a storm, or would her arrows miss and strike an ally by mistake? Even the very idea of missing had her stomach turning uncomfortably. And the docks were-- they were so overrun with monsters and fighters alike, Cressida couldn't tell where they ended or began. No, she wouldn't miss. Not today. Failure was not an option; failure would not come to claim her. She found herself running, skidding to a practiced stop at the side of a dark-haired woman with her arrow already notched and firing into the eye of a Mindflayer.
"Are you--" Her words were hurried and dripped of concern, but upon seeing the woman's face, she gave pause. This woman's name she didn't exactly recall in full -- Kapur was her surname -- but she knew of her, well enough for her mind to whisper noble and her countenance to fall somewhat. It was never wholly personal, never an anger toward that person in particular, but an overall irritation with those who were born of noble blood and did nothing to earn what they had. She herself worked hard, so hard that she bled so frequently it was a wonder she still had fingers and Darius hadn't suggested she stop altogether, so this was--
She breathed.
"You're alright?"
