Drake shrugged at Ari's commentary. "You're the least social-climbing social climber I have ever met. And I've met lots of them." Been mistaken for one when he'd first gotten to town until everyone realized that the last thing he'd wanted was to be tied down. Those rumors, fortunately, had died quickly, for which he was immensely grateful.
When they'd first started this charade, he'd been worried about a variety of things, but mostly his own discomfort about pretending to be in a relationship had been the worst stressor. Now, he had grown far more comfortable with their game than he'd thought was possible. "We enjoy each other's company," he said lightly. "That's really all it is, right?"
