Aspel/Ari/Drake - FAIRLY LATE
"My reputation is permanently tarnished already," Ari told Drake with a laugh. "But the manner of tarnish, I am quite particular about; let us keep from casting me as the ruthless social climber or thoughtless breaker of tender hearts. I prefer everyone thinking that I am simply an uncommonly lucky woman with exquisite taste in lovers."
She shrugged, turning to Aspel, and said airily, "There is no need to dig out as far as I can tell; we all get along at least moderately well, people are done hassling us about it it, and what is -- or isn't -- between us is hardly anyone's business but ours. As I see it, the plan has been a smashing success. Though," she said, plucking her own flute of champagne from the waiter's tray, "I will hardly say no to more time in your company, one way or another, so you will have little complaint from me either way."
