A popular holiday, the Eve of Holy Saints had been celebrated in Emillion for as long as any could remember. Decorations lined the city from the residential neighborhoods to the Bazaar, taverns were rife with individual celebrations, bardic entertainment and themed drinks of all varieties, and candies and sweets were all ready to be distributed throughout much of every district. The Theatre District was alive with activity this day, and had committed itself to a number of thrilling and grisly plays from morning to well into the evening hours. Mummers and entertainers in extravagant costumes went on full display, whether for coin or simply for the purpose of their own amusement. For those looking for other means of entertainment, a number of supposedly “haunted” attractions were set up near several shops, looking to reel in gil from those who wanted a scare. For those who were given to Pharist practices, however, they would engage themselves with the sombre yearly services, oftentimes choosing prayer and reflection over indulgences, as well as paying their respects to the dearly departed. Whatever manner of religion or lifestyle the citizens themselves ascribed to, the colorful festivities were certain to greet them along their day. |
