When she returned to her seat, she held out her hands for what Ari had brought. Ari was very considerate, telling her about the different textures and showing her the inside and outside. Quen continued to examine it for several moments after Ari took her hand away. She closed her eyes as she tended to when she was concentrating as she noticed the spiral shape, the spikes, and the smoothness of the inside. When her fingers had explored the entire surface of she shell, she lifted it and gingerly held the opening to her ear. After several seconds of listening, her eyes widened and she laughed delightedly. "Is that the ocean?"
