"You'd be surprised how useful time is for healing such wounds," Foxe said. In his experiences, he'd found that the bad never lasted as long as he'd thought they would. Of course, he didn't exactly know what was wrong with Lavitz, but figured that he'd turn out alright in the end. The Riders usually did.
"You're welcome," he said with a slight nod. He opened his mouth to say more, but a girl stumbled into their path and Foxe had to stop her from being knocked over by the solid pair of them. He held her lightly by her shoulders, righted her, asked if she was alright, and, after getting a nod and a roll of her eyes, let her go off on her way. He grinned at Lavitz, "I think it might turn out to be a busy night."
They continued to walk down the path together, moving on to the lighter topic of just how smashed everyone would be by the close of the day.
