Felicity shook her head in wonder. "Far too much like me," she muttered, and took up the chase once again.
"Jump off, idiot, or it'll throw you into something unpleasant!" The bird-lizard creature looked pretty determined to be rid of its impromptu jockey. It veered wildly from side to side, knocking into fruit stands and upsetting a cabbage cart. It darted left, and Felicity followed, bouncing off the narrow walls of a dead-end ally.
The creature screeched when it realised its mistake. Felicity grinned. "We can do this one of two ways, beastie," she said. "You give me back my apprentice so I can beat the definition of 'prudence' into his sorry hide, and I promise I'll be gentle. If not..." She unholstered her staff from across her back and swung it into a guard position. "I'm down to rumble."
