The week had not passed by quietly for Lex. She had endured many aggressive training campaigns atop of her already daunting schedule, and so the opportunity to take a moment for herself, even if it was a small one, was accepted in earnest. The cafe was hardly more than a stone's throw from the Cathedral, and Lex knew of it in some faint capacity. However, even if she was more familiar with it than the last cafe, diligence and caution were employed in great amounts. For the last meeting had been nothing less than unfortunate.
Lex approached the cafe with the care of one trying to gain as little attention as possible, rushing up to the table to pull a chair out beside Peony. Once she felt her position at the table wouldn't be as compromising as the last--eyeing the other patrons with a slight hint of suspicion. "I hope I haven't missed anything exciting," she said, the tone of her voice indicating the opposite.
