"I don't listen to a lot of Kerwonian music," he admitted as he sat beside her, "but only because I don't get many opportunities to listen to it! Or as many as I'd like." Or that he took advantage of, but he would like to change that if he could. "It is beautiful though. And I think you sound wonderful on that instrument already!"
Merri bashfully chuckled as his eyes fell to his lap. "I'm not..." he began, but he hesitated before he could complete the lie. It was true -- he was plenty worried -- but these were concerns that had no solution quite yet, not until the white mages they sent to Cammon returned with news of a diagnosis and, hopefully, a cure. To express them now would be fruitless, as his trip to the clinic had proven to him.
So he chose to answer her question instead. He lifted his eyes to meet hers, a shy smile still on his face. "I guess a conversation? It's been a while since we last saw each other." And that last time had been more emotionally overwhelming than Merri had wanted. "How have you been?"
