Merri/Ari | Bazaar District | 6:00pm
The message he and Peony had received that morning still worried Merri, and he hoped that the volunteers would get to the bottom of the matter quickly. Illness that started and spread in the Outlands could not stay out of the city forever, but beyond the worries for his own health, he feared for his mother as well and regretted that he had chosen to stay in Emillion for the Harvest instead of returning home. Though it would risk his health, what if it would take a hold of her?
He sent a letter out to Risca with another courier as the town was a little out of the way from Grenoble and Cammon, and the man's task was of more importance than Merri's. Still, he hoped that the white mages would get to the bottom of this quickly, and in the meantime, he would make sure that he himself did not carry whatever ailment was taking the lives of those in the country.
The white mage grumbled and sighed and gave him a couple of potions before shoving him out the door. Another clean bill of health, which alleviated some of his concerns but nearly all. The clinic behind him closed and the streets before him filled with people shopping and finding dinner, and Merri pushed through the crowd to pick up some dinner for himself and the captain before heading back to the Tower.
This thought put a smile on his face and he almost missed the sweet melody of a beautifully familiar voice nearby. He followed the music until he saw Ari sitting on a bench with an instrument in her lap -- was that a zither? -- and his already big grin spread wider as he enjoyed the rest of her performance, applauding when she finished.
