The streets of Emillion, after festival, were always so calm, serene almost. There was litter lingering here and there, along with a few people who had obviously had far too much drink still stalking about like zombies. It was unnerving on some level, how glossed over their eyes seemed and how their gait had been discombobulated through the weekend of events and parties. This was why Riyeko didn't really drink, this was why she didn't really invest in much in the other events of the weekend, this was why... Ratchet tugged on his leash, pulling her to head off towards something he wanted to sniff and it yanked Riyeko out of her thoughts for the moment. "Oh, sorry boy." A weak smile was given to the poor dog as he lazily meandered about the area, looking at this, sniffing at that before continuing his leisurely stroll. "You'd think the merchants would be at it again." She couldn't help but murmur half to herself and half to Ratchet. She'd so desperately wanted to make it up to him by buying a ham bone or some beef knuckle, as the poor creature had nearly been abandoned in her small apartment almost all weekend but it was seeming unlikely at this point. Well, at least it would be one less thing to turn her stomach. The inventor nodded firmly to herself, clearly she'd need to take him out on an adventure this coming weekend to make it up. Ratchet would like that. Turning a corner, they headed for a park, one where they could both relax, Riyeko with her small breakfast and Ratchet could find a nice stick to gnaw on. Or at least, that's what Riyeko had planned that day, though that noise for the next turn up ahead, coming from around the corner might be telling a different story and the inventor gave pause. Nervously tightening her hold on Ratchet's leash he continued to seem unbothered and she looked down at him worriedly. "Are you sure?" She whispered down, and the dog looked back at her, almost asking if she'd lost her mind finally before tugging her forward and around the corner to whatever might be making such an odd noise. |
