RIN/SIANA -- mid-evening.
Seeing Audrey presented as a noble had even Rin gaping like a fish. But the announcement was quickly processed and filed away, for the night at least. She'd given Audrey (Alys, rather) her congratulations, and then proceeded to make her usual circuit, like she would at any other party. The quickest way to acceptance was to normalize the situation. Once the first few showed they weren't fussed, the majority would follow suit. Nobility could be sheep-like in some ways. Quick to reject or accept in accordance with their neighbors.
Once she'd said her hellos and taken a few turns on the dance floor, Rin quickly retreated to the refreshment table. Usually, she was a picky eater—but after skipping dinner in order to pick up her dress for the event, she found herself famished, and much less choosy.
In her haste to pile her plate with canapes, she bumped into the hand of another, who had reached first. "My apologies—" she looked up "—Lady Banes."
