Logic wasn't registering to Cressida, who had gone in without considering what she was rushing into. Her brothers frequented this tavern. She hadn't seen them among the patrons outside, so it meant they were either inside or were never there at all. One option weighed on her more heavily than the other, so upon throwing herself through the doors, too distracted to realize what awaited her, she swallowed smoke and coughed-- but pushed on.
Faram above, she hoped her brothers hadn't decided to spend an afternoon off drinking.
When the wooden beam fell somewhere behind her, the archer threw a glance back, squinting through the smoke to spot-- Eden? They had never really been formally introduced, and Cressida mostly knew her through the chocobo incident and her being a Ranger (hadn't Drake said to speak to her? no, now was not the time). She coughed into her wrist, just in time for someone to wail a loud Please, please from somewhere to their left: a man, cowering beneath a table.
And not either of her brothers.
