At this point, Juliette was no longer surprised to hear a familiar voice; it seemed she would not avoid running into people she knew today, for all that she had hoped to get away from things for a little while. In retrospect, getting away should probably have included a rental chocobo to the woods surrounding the city, if not for the fact that she did not know her way around particularly well. That and, with her luck, she would ride straight into a group of Rangers, all of whom would recognize her...
All of which flashed through her mind in the span of time it took to turn and offer Ridley a small smile. She did not know the other girl's schedule, so she had to assume this was at least one person who couldn't possibly realize she was skipping her lessons in favor of... other pursuits. "Hello, Ridley. What a surprise. I had thought," hoped, "that all the mages were still occupied at the Tower. Even Amy is gone, and she is nearly always here."
She had closed the book she had been perusing, now sliding it onto the shelf self-consciously. It had been a silly idea.
