Peony/Lionel/Merri | late morning | G?
Lionel and Peony's comments both lifted the corners of Merri's mouth. "Thank you," he said. The faith his friends had in him was enough to ease his tension for now, and at least just enough that he was able to take a bite of his bagel at last. Though his heart still pounded, he was now able to keep his eyes off his notecards for at least a few minutes while the conversation continued. He still a hand in his pocket to curl around the cards, however.
As Peony described what the spell effect expander, Merri's eyes widened. "That... would be very useful indeed!" He thought back to the undead invasion from a few months back. If he'd been able to cast Fire or Fira on more than just one or two undead at a time, would things have gotten so dire for him and his companions? And in the future, if there was to be another attack, a Protect spell over a horde of innocents could save many lives. "How far as she come in developing it? How does it work?"
He realized as he asked it that Peony probably wasn't the best equipped to answer the question, but he still wondered.
