The mages tower was always bustling and full of bodies going from one room to another. Those rooms were full of books or lectures or labs. Today current floor, on the ground and below, were full of guests. It was practically swarming with people in the traditional robes of their region or those who had opted to sway away from them, although they were frequently mistaken for not being mages unless their badge was in full view. There was still a long circular line in the hall that parted when people had to go through, made up of people who were had just arrived that morning and were still attempting to check in. The first day, scholars had been assigned to ferry around the people who would be staying in the tower or even those who would be staying in nearby inns around. While Emillion was a well-known city, it was far from familiar to foreigners. Emillion hadn't hosted the convention in well over a decade. There wasn't breakfast, because there wasn't really that much time. Once they had their badge, they were ushered into the main auditorium where they were seated as they came in. The opening address was given by the Sage of the guild, the lovely Vivian Xi. After the welcome and the musical entertainment they were encouraged to visit as many lectures as they could, and of course they had the aids of local mages and scholars to direct them to the appropriate rooms for said lectures. If any news of the troubles of Emillion had traveled far, a lot of the mages did not seem concerned. Magic was a powerful force and in the numbers the tower currently housed, they felt bad for anyone who might descend upon them, considering the accumulated amount of knowledge and skill that was gathered there. Regardless, they did feel eased by the presence of Emillion's Knights of Peace. |
