He happily tossed the pouch full of coins from his inner pocket to the desk and took the key from Gillian. No more dodging his father's questions and lying about his living situation, no more having to woo himself into women's beds (not that he minded, but it was exhausting and far from a guarantee some nights), no more breaking his back sleeping on the hard floor of a cave with the lingering fear that his dragon would eat him in his slumber, and the premises was amazing, the rent was good, and all he had to do was make his payments on time and paint the fence.
"Let's go," he said, pocketing the key. He'd have to get a keychain later, but for now he was excited to get a tour of his new home for as long as he had the gil to pay for that roof over his head.
