Ari stood, trying not to whimper, and padded over, falling into Aud's narrow bed and wrapping an arm around her waist. Against her friend's hair, she murmured, "In his defense, I don't think he would have been your first choice if you were sober, either. Sometimes we do stupid things we don't mean."
She was silent a few moments before removing her hand from Aud's waist to stroke over her hair. "There's nothing wrong with enjoying some good, angry sex. You can still wake up the next morning and just move on." Unless, of course, Aud suddenly decided she had feelings for Miles, in which case Ari would probably watch her go through another destructive cycle of poor decisions. Really, she thought, the white mage was one of Aud's better life choices.
