As his hand touched her cheek, Audrey froze. She had stopped breathing. The ambiance around them had disappeared from her senses, the only thing she was capable of hearing being the hard beat of her heart. The world had momentarily just become their table. Her hands gripped at the hem of her dress tightly, watching as his face got closer to hers.
He was so gentle, and the kiss was placed softly on her lips. Audrey had closed her eyes momentarily, lips parting as she finally got a breath of fresh air. Opening her eyes for a moment, she got one glance of him before closing her eyes again and returning the kiss. A hand came up to reach for his free hand. She didn’t move her face away, but she pulled back for a second. “Your last question.”
It was a nice kiss. Not world changing, not heart stopping or fireworks worthy, but those were all fairy tales in his opinion anyway. Nice was all Darius really needed anyway. Audrey was a pretty girl with soft lips, and legs he’d love to have wrapped around his waist.
Keeping the distance between them short as if debating another kiss, the faintest hint of smile would pull at his lips with the new question, his own voice coming out as a low murmur as eyes dipped down to look at her.
