“Well,” Audrey couldn’t help but grin. “Some of you do.” A soft laugh came from her lips as she brought up a hand to cover her mouth. Her thoughts were mainly in reference to Theodore, thought she was a little unsure if she could openly make fun of friend. Instead of accusing his half-brother of having larger breast than Audrey, she shrugged. “Some of the more built men in the Fighter’s Guild have pretty mean pecs, just saying.” The grin still lingered on her lips in hopes of showing Darius she was jesting as well. “What? A little jealous?” she teased. “I feel as though a man wouldn’t even know what to do with them if they had grown breasts.”
“Cheater!” Audrey immediately stuck her tongue out at the white mage. A hand rested on her palm as she thought over it carefully. “Gentlemen are sexy, I think. Someone who treats a lady nice. I’m a sucker for blue eyes and a nice smile. A nice body is worth a 100 points in my book. I don’t know. It speaks a lot about them.” Audrey was approaching her last question. She finished her drink slowly, eventually emptying it. Audrey was going to ask him. This was it. Leaning close to him over her table, she offered him a sultry look.
“Would you kiss me?”
Darius couldn’t help but sigh and roll his eyes at Audrey’s accusation. Men had pecs, women had breasts. There was a difference… Of sorts. Regardless of himself, he couldn’t help the smile that still lingered across his face. “Can’t say I disagree.” His smile widened a bit when Audrey proposed that a man wouldn’t know what to do with breasts if they were the one endowed with such. “I mean, I think some guys would be too distracted looking at their own chests.” Hey, he could poke fun at his own gender at least a little as well.
“Cheater?” The confusion in his voice was obvious, and his forehead crinkled a little. How and what was he cheating on? Though, before he could even get a word in edgewise she was off on a rant. Man, how did chicks do that all the time and not sound like idiots? When a guy carried on like this, he always just wondered what the hell was wrong with the other dude. “A nice body says a lot, huh? How so?” Darius followed up, not thinking much for the rules of the game, anymore. Audrey had gotten multiple questions in on one round, surely he could get at least one extra.
Her next question though caused a bit of a smirk, as he leaned in slightly as well.
“What do I get out of it?”
“What can I say?” she replied with a shrug. “I can appreciate men who take good care of themselves.” Her slight smile had broken into a grin. “I also can’t help it’s a bit of an eye tease.” With both her glasses empty, Audrey fiddled with the base of her wine glass, motioning it in circles. She had looked away from him and the proximity of his face when he had leaned in. It was an embarrassed and shy expression. “A happy ending,” she mumbled, eyes glancing up for a second to see his reaction.
It seemed a reasonable thing. From Darius’ experience, people who were capable and aware of their boundaries and habits, tended to be more capable of knowing when to say they’d had enough. Which really, was good for all parties involved at most points. “Makes sense.” The word would be punctuated with a simple nod, not feeling like he really had to add all that much more.
The look across her face almost made him want to laugh, though at the same time, it most definitely was oddly endearing. So, instead of life, he let the smirk pulling at the corners of his mouth widen a bit more.
“Sounds like something I can get behind.” With that, a hand rose, fingers moving in attempts to gently touch the side of her face, and turn it so that he could place a kiss on her lips if she’d so allow.
