"Yeah, just a few," Audrey grinned back at him and once again went back down to fiddling with the hem of her skirt. As a way to stop herself she had reached over to the wine to have a drink. A minor distraction. Anything to get her mind off the thumping thing in her chest that seemed to get louder whenever she looked into his blue eyes. She had been taking another sip of her wine when he dropped his line. Audrey had to suppress every inch of body to keep herself from spitting her drink right onto her date. Instead she forced herself to swallow causing the wine to go down the wrong way and Audrey to incessantly cough. A hand came up to motion to the Mage that she was fine. She didn't need to force the smile that came on her lips. Darius' misfortune was a little too hard not to chuckle at. As soon as her choking coughs came to an end, she took a deep breath. "How old were you?" She asked, ignoring her own rules. "How did you even get out of that? Or did you just accept getting caught?"
Audrey looked back up to the ceiling, digging through old memories. "Uhhh. I mean. No. That was more embarrassing for Drake than it was for me," she mumbled. "Well I lived in a brothel for so long. I think that sort of stuff just becomes normal after a while. But uh. Most embarrassing thing. You know Cormac, right?" She paused. "Well he used to tend to frequent the Sapphire House. And when I first met him, he confused me for a prostitute working there. I basically gave him a beating with a pillow.” Audrey frowned. “It isn’t as good as yours. Stupid things embarrass me, the rest of my life is just shambles of awkward pieced together. Maybe another day I’ll be able to give you a more entertaining story.”
Pursing her lips, she took another drink of her wine. “What do you find hot?” The words rolled off her tongue naturally, as if it wasn’t something inappropriate or awkward to ask. After all if she acknowledge it to be that, then it would be that. Instead, she approached it with such cool, swirling her glass a little before setting it down.
