Poetry, then - a safer topic I cannot imagine; why, even my mother would approve." It had been one of the few topics deemed 'safe' to converse on with well-bred young ladies and gentlemen. It had certainly been the only thing to interest her among that list of topics.
"You are welcome to my collection at any time. I am not certain how much you saw when you walked me home some months ago, but I have a fair number of compilations. Poetry wedded to melody is a bard's lifeblood, after all." She tapped her finger against her chin, thoughtful. "I cannot honestly say what specifically makes it a favorite, except that the use of language, and the way it builds to a climax in that phrase is truly masterful. I sang a choral arrangement of it once as a young girl. It was very powerful, and I never did forget the words, no matter how many others I learned in the subsequent years."
