Food. There could only be so many opportunities for him to stick his foot in his mouth over food. He took the plate Zacheus offered to him and smiled gratefully. "It smells really good," he said, leading them into the living room. He really needed to get a table, but for now, the couch and coffee table would have to suffice.
He sat down, making sure to leave plenty of room for the archer. Between Council and all of the attacks, he hadn't had much of a chance to go out and buy more furniture. The only reason he had the two pieces of furniture he did was because he needed somewhere to sit and a place to put his books and paperwork. Maybe he could ask Ari to go shopping with him or something.
"Sorry for the lack of furniture," he said apologetically. "I haven't had much time to shop." He'd thought about it after the impromptu party that had popped up after he'd been injured, but he'd yet to follow through on it.
