The information was stored away, though she could not say exactly where she might be able to use it in the future. Her own family had Ordalian roots, but she did not know much of the continent’s cultures, other than that they were varied. Perhaps a visit to Lux & Livre was in order sometime soon. And thinking about books -- easy, comfortable, familiar -- went a long way toward restoring her peace of mind. Although she still felt a bit flustered, she found herself a bit sorry when the song came to a close. At the offer, though, she said, “I am afraid I might be quite hopeless at it.” Fluidity of movement was one thing, but the minute motions of such dancing, which she now recalled, were something else again. Not to mention the costume would surely have repercussions she was not ready to face. “I do hope, however, that we might meet again,” she added after a moment. A pleasantry, but mostly true in this case. She had been off balance the entire time, but the dance had not been… unpleasant, either. Perhaps next time, when she was not quite so shocked by her unconventional partner, she might acquit herself better on the dancefloor. ---------- Seloria smiled pleasantly at the comment about Juliette being hopeless. "I doubt it would be too hard. You are still young." Taking a step back, she brought Juliette's hand to her lips again and curtsied gracefully. "Thank you for the dance, Lady Coulombe. I am certain I will sweep you away again in the future." Her smile bloomed into something a little less practiced and much more genuine. She then slipped back into the crowd. |
