Siana/Evander, early evening.
Siana narrowed her eyes, wondering how much of what he said was truth and how much of it was political small talk. Was this a true apology for Royse's words as a means of disassociating himself with the man, or was this a manner of being polite, of keeping the peace?
Either way, she knew that the only viable answer to give was, "Thank you, Your Honor."
Parties and balls were hardly her scene, and her idea of a break was to spend the day either with her sister and nephew or with a good book, which was where she longed to be now. If she could not have either, she preferred to be on patrol or in the office trying to find a lead to pursue on her case. But she was a private woman, and saying such things besides was impolite, so she simply replied, "It is a lovely party."
