It was a good thing he had the mouth guard; that hurt like a tipsy tonberry. As it was, the guard only served to muffle his scream - and yes, it was a scream, no use pretending otherwise. The pain was sharp and sudden, and he really should have realized that Darius wasn't going to do it on three. Being too tense never helped, and if he knew it was coming... Well.
He used his good arm to pull the mouth guard from his mouth and put in on the table next to him before taking the sling from Darius "Thanks," he said. "I'll try to keep that in mind." Which meant that he'd try, but his life was what it was and he had a tendency to get involved in things he really shouldn't.
Pulling the cloth sling over his head, he pulled his injured arm into it, careful not to pull it to far or aggravate it. It had been a while since he'd needed one, and it felt awkward. He wasn't fond of having one appendage effectively constrained, but he also knew that he could do serious damage without it.
"We really should try to get together when I'm not bleeding," he joked. "Well, I'll let you get back to it." It wouldn't do to keep him from people who needed him.
