Jessie pulled out a chair and nervously took a seat with her. He sipped his coffee in an attempt to try to look casual. "I like reading," he replied softly. He hadn't been to this store before; he usually got his books from the local Goodwill, but it looked very nice. "Are the books expensive here?" he asked. Jessie was very tight with his money. He had accounts and caches set up all over the place just in case he was suddenly kicked-out and homeless again. The only real luxury he let himself buy was his clean shirts. He knew he spent too much on them since he always wanted a new one, but he wanted to feel clean after so much time spent being filthy. "Congratulations," he added. "Finishing a semester of college is something to be very proud of." Jessie was still a bit envious. He'd always wanted to go to college, but he was very proud of Liz and happy for her.
