Ellen knew this was potentially a very bad idea. Going to see a demon, particularly as one as dangerous as Meg, was never a smart move. Going alone to see one was akin to suicide, really. And yet here she was, all on her own and with every intention of paying the demon a visit. If asked why, she would likely give the excuse that she just wanted to be absolutely sure Meg wasn't going to come back after Joanna for some sort of retaliation. However, truth by told, Ellen was also concerned.
Granted she'd never admit it to anyone. She wasn't even completely comfortable with admitting it to herself. However the fact remained that Joanna had done a bit of a number on the demon and, as much as Ellen thought she rather deserved it, she also didn't feel right just letting it alone. Whether it was the motherly instinct she possessed in spades that made her want to care for those who were injured, or whether it was simply a matter of hedging her bets in the hopes that a bit of kindness from herself would alleviate any retribution aimed at her daughter, was anyone's guess. Odds are though, and if Ellen were asked, she would simply say that it was the right thing to do and therefore she was doing it.
Whatever the reason, she found herself outside of Meg's hotel room with little difficulty. She hesitated at front of the door, suddenly stricken with uncertainty over whether this was a good idea or not. Finally, however, she decided it was a much better option to check on the demon rather than feed into whatever belief the demon might possess in regards to the 'higher than thou' humans who sat in judgment of her yet did nothing to ascertain her own well being following the pseudo-torture of one of their own. So with her mind made up, and as much determination flowing through her as was in any given situation, Ellen knocked upon the door and waited to be invited it.
Was it weird that she was treating a demon much as she might treat a human? Yes. Desperate times called for desperate measures, however, and this was no exception. Therefore, after knocking, she simply waited for a response and hoped, whatever she found, wouldn't test her resolve anymore than it had already been tested.
