Since her arrival in the Elysian Fields, if that's even where she actually was, Jade hadn't moved very much. Just a few feet away from where the boat had deposited her on the shore in fact. Just far enough to feel the sand beneath her feet before sinking to her knees then, ultimately, sitting just above where the surf began. It was there that she'd stayed while exploring the device they'd given her and determining just how it functioned. It was there that she'd stayed while exchanging words with a woman she didn't know and one claiming to be Barachiel. And it was there she continued to stay as she watched the sun slowly making its way below the horizon.
She had heard the light buzzing signifying she had a response from one of the two conversations she was partaking in. However she was also ignoring it, part of her terrified of what she was going to find when she finally looked. There weren't very many reasons that people would be calling Barachiel by a name that was not her own and none of them were very good ones. Granted the way the archangel spoke, assuming she was in fact who she said she was, told her that she still had her Grace. But considering all Jade had experienced in the few short years she was in Purgatory, she knew better than to jump to conclusions about such matters.
With a soft sigh, she glanced briefly down at her PDA before once more turning her gaze back to the water before her. Absently she scooped up a bit of sand before letting it fall through her fingers. The sound of it bouncing lightly off a ground made of the same substance was one that most people wouldn't even hear, or at least wouldn't pay much mind. Jade, however, strained to hear every grain smack into the earth. There was a time when such a thing would have been impossible not to hear and her brow furrowed as she allowed herself a brief moment to reminisce. Just a moment, though, and she re-focused her thoughts on the situation she'd found herself in.
She'd died. Of that much she was absolutely certain. Unfortunately that was where her certainty ended. She knew she should have simply ceased to exist. She should have been consumed by a great nothingness. She should have been given at least that much of a reprieve. Yet she hadn't. Instead she was in an afterlife created by the Greek gods and goddesses of a time long since past, meant for heroes and the virtuous. As Jade was neither one of those, not to mention had once been an archangel and therefore quite firmly not aligned with the Olympians in any way, to say she was confused was an understatement. To say she was happy with this turn of events was an even bigger one.
With another stifled sigh she finally decided she'd stalled long enough. Perhaps Barachiel would be willing to provide a few answers that were plaguing her. Perhaps not. Either way, Jade's gaze fell back to her PDA with the intent of reading the response she'd received and hopefully getting a few answers to the issues plaguing her. Before she could do anything more than pick the device up from her lap, however, there was a shift in the air around her and instantly she knew she wasn't alone. Her new task was forgotten as instantly she half-turned, still seated, to see who it was that had arrived.
