Adam couldn't sleep. Really, that wasn't anything new. Since he'd showed up in the Elysian Fields he had gotten, on average, a couple of hours a night so far. However tonight he couldn't seem to even manage that much. And after an hour of tossing and turning, his mind reliving things he didn't want to think about at all, he finally gave up trying. He simply felt too restless, too weighed down by too many things, to sit still and eventually decided that going for a walk might be the best way to combat the issue. Getting dressed, he debated telling someone where he was going but a quick glance at his PDA made him change his mind. He didn't need permission and he honestly didn't want anyone even aware that he was having an issue at the moment. So he simply pocketed the device in case he wound up needing it, made sure he had a couple of knives and some holy water just in case, and set out for a three-in-the-morning stroll through the streets.
The weather at least was nice. The streets were also pretty devoid of life, which helped. It wasn't that Adam didn't want to talk to anyone. He was normally a fairly sociable person and typically didn't mind even idle conversation just to pass the time. He didn't, however, want to deal with large crowds or the hustle and bustle of people coming and going. Just like he didn't want to deal with anyone who was only going to look at him with something akin to pity. Like he was some sort of snot-nosed kid that had fallen off his bunkbed and really shouldn't be dead yet. He had earned his death. He hadn't earned eternity in a place for heroes, but he deserved to be dead for having played right into the angels hands and almost ending the world.
Stuffing his hands into the pockets of his jeans, he glanced around as he moved down the street. Most of the shops were closed at this time of night but there were a couple that were nestled away and clearly still open for whatever reason. Adam felt no real compulsion to go into any of them although he did pause at a window display of various types of weapons. Which really was a little odd, considering Adam had never had any interest in weapons before, but now that he knew the sorts of real dangers that existed he felt some sort of compulsion, almost, to at least see what was available for protection. So he stood there for a moment longer, his brow lightly furrowed and the corners of his mouth turned downward as easy recognition of the various blades and whatnot flashed through his mind thanks to knowledge and memories that weren't his own.
